A New Project

Updated: Jan 14, 2022

Welcome to Hannah’s Edit. This is a brand new project and I’m very excited to be sharing it with you.

I'm hoping you'll believe me when I say that this was not the result of a hasty new years resolution, nor a participation in January guilt culture (at least I don't think so). My life milestones don't typically come like clockwork every calendar year but I suppose this one is quite timely. Recently, I've found myself with more free time and more desire to push myself in terms of my reading habits so I'm in it for the challenge, but also simply to continue doing something I enjoy (this time with a shiny new personal platform).

Here’s how it stands now. I recently graduated university and, ever since, have been looking to continue doing one of the things I love most - talk heaps about books. In other words, I entered the ‘real world’ recently; a time where the world definitely felt less than real, summer 2021 (home of The Virus That Must Not Be Named). In the last 6 months I’ve been doing all I can to reach my dream career in publishing and decided not too long ago to go for my masters degree. In the meantime I’ve launched this corner of the internet to continue discussing the books and stories I’m consuming and hope this is something you’d like to see.

The saying goes that you start as you mean to go on, but in all honesty I’m not one hundred percent sure; blogging is relatively new to me and I’d prefer for this to be a project that grows and evolves as I find out what I like to talk about and how I'd like to talk about it. However, I will be talking about genres I love such as utopian/dystopian fiction, genres which are new to me, my experience with #BookTok and the wider publishing industry.

With that being said, here’s to 2022 being a better year and to new beginnings (whenever they strike)…
